The End of All Things is a series of monotypes on colored paper, conceived as a homage to Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa’s television series Chilling Adventures of Sabrina. Upon the release of its fourth and final season in early 2021, I teamed up with the hosts of fan-made podcast CAOS Theory to create an ensemble of square-shaped artworks, one for each chapter of their online commentary.
Sacasa’s television adaptation of the character of Sabrina — the teenage witch originally from the Archie Comics franchise — resonated with me from the moment the series premiered. I found myself intensely absorbed by its fascinating universe of twisted witchcraft and campiness. This reinvention of Sabrina Spellman’s tale speaks to a larger audience and defies multiple social tabus, consistently pushing the boundaries of what can be shown on television.
