On the sealed leisure days of a fancy apartment block, The Girl and The Boy rehearse the dangerous protocol of first desire. By night, he squats at a dead manor beyond the commuter belt, hoarding stolen relics of her body. She wants him back with the same violence. That is the problem. Hunger has made him holy. Possession might make him ordinary. Her mother watches with the practical vigilance of a woman who understands the speed of male appetite.

When the pair escape into an enchanted forest, their romantic flight leads them to an underground candy house of stale carpets, mirrors and exhausted prophecy. There, seduction becomes a security system. A concealed key and a moment of coercion expose the panic inside their desire.
In addition to the creation of the film poster, Carlos Conceição and I also came up with the concept of creating a collage zine that would then become the official Press Book for A Firestarter’s Heart premiere at the 2026 Curtas Vila do Conde short film festival in the North of Portugal.
